Today in class we first put the keys back on one computer and then worked on doing presentations. I don’t really want to do mine. We also did a little more of the blog talks.
The Pianist was supposedly good and Taylor thought that it was pretty boring. He is a pianist that was recruited by a Nazi to play the piano and this saved him from being killed due to his Jewish nature.
The blog was about telling what happened on Pearl Harbor Day and how it affected the country.
Germany
1. How did the Treaty of Versailles impact them?
It destroyed their military and air force. It took away a lot of their territories.
2. What type(s) of government did this country have in the interwar years(1919-1938)?
Germany was mostly a Republic party but they were also a single party state. Hitler took it to his advantage and blamed their problems on the government. There was a President that was elected by the people and the President appointed the Chancellor who had more power.
3. How did their leader, that led them throughout WWII, come to power?
Hitler joined the DAP which was a non Jewish group. He changed the Thule society to the Nazi party. He was appointed to Chancelor and then took over and became a dictator.
4. How did this leader change their country (for the better and worse) prior to WWII?
Reformed the Nazi Party and became the leader.
5. What were the goals of the leader?
Hitler wanted to take the French out and he wanted to undo everything that the treaty took from them and return land with German people to the main German country. He wanted the Ukrainian area to be able to get its resources and access to the sea. He wanted to create the master race.
6. What was the military strategy of this country in the inter-war years (1919-1938)?
Hitler developed the Blitzkreig, or lightning warfare, they would take tanks and airplanes to devastate the country and then attack with their full force.
7. What role did they play in WWII?
They were the head of the Axis Powers and were the main power. They took over a lot of land and defeated France and many other countries and executed the Holocaust.
8. Who were their allies in WWII?
The Axis Powers like Japan, Italy, Russia for a year or so, Hungary, Thailand, Bulgaria, Croatia and a few others.
9. How did WWII impact/effect the country?
It split them into East and West Germany and they had to rebuild most of their cities and such.
