Today is the second day that we are back at school. The forecast predicts anywhere from 4-10 inches of snow on Wednesday. We could possibly get an early out tomorrow, or late start Thursday, possibly no school. Mr. Bruns started off the class by emphasizing the necessity of doing our dauky reflective blogs. He gave a little insight to the people who were still unsure of how to do their blogs. Mr. Bruns doesn't care about puncuation errors in our daily blogs, but in our assigned blogs, grammar and puncuation are graded. All blogs are due at 11:59 on Sunday night. This weeks daily blog is to list the causes and effects of the Great Depression and Stock market crash. Each assigned blog is worth 20 points. Next Monday's blog discussion is going to be more like a class discussion on the matter. Normaly on Monday, everyone discusses their assigned blog from the previous week. What do we need to do to do a good blog? Bruns has his own checklist.Assigned Blog Checklist:• Include at least two images or one videoo They should relate to the topic• Use paragraph form –o separate each main idea into a paragrapho start with topic sentenceso express thoughts in complete sentenceso include relevant, supporting detailso separate paragraphs• Mechanicso Punctuate the end of your sentenceso capitalize first word, I and nameso Don’t start sentences with “Because”, “But”, “And” or “So”• Summarizeo the first part of the blog should highlight main ideas and supporting detailso do not copy or cut and paste!• Reflecto the second part of the blog should demonstrate what you learned and what your thoughts/opinions areon the topic-Eight points will be deducted for no pictures/video.-Four points will be deducted if you only have one picture.-Six points will be deducted if you do not add your personal thoughts or opinions.-You will get a zero if any part of your blog is plagiarized(plus other possible consequences). That is about all that I am going to type for today.
