today we watched a video about the 1920's. some of the things that made the 20's roaring were electricity and the invention of fords assembly line which made cars on mass production. One of the biggest things about the twenties was the ability to buy on credit, there were also now more people living in urban areas that rural. With the new invention of the assembly line people could now commute daily to work and other things. Womens rights also grew now that women could vote and now more women were going to school and college. Electricity in peoples homes allowed for the invention of home appliances.In the 1920's there was also a huge amount of advertising to sell huge amount of products. this was now possible since the invention of the radio. movies were also a new invention in this time. movies also had huge influences on how people acted and movies became the biggest influence to citizens. jazz was also a new style of music around this time because it was fast and loud much like the roaring 20's. many african americans also moved north at this time and harlem new york was now the biggest collection of african americans in the country. There were also illegal clubs were people can drink bootlegged alcohol.There was also WW1 which sparked a hate and fear of immigrants which started a group called the Klu Klux Klan which was a group that hated immigrants or any people different than them. Schools also stopped the teaching of evolution. And the 20’s were also the golden age of sports like baseball, college football, and professional football. Charles lindenburg was also the first person to fly across the atlantic ocean nonstopThe 1920’s were also a time of growing capitalism and when the market crashed in October 1929 it became the longest depression in American history.
