What made the 1920's roaring, exciting, and fun? The people of the twenties lived in a bright new age with new inventions coming out and great prosperity.Henry Ford produced the Model T. Americans owned more and more automobiles and they made the transfer from the country farming America to the more Urban America.The automobile changed the way people travled, dated, church habits, and gave them the freedom to escape from their parents.Ford also gave unhear wages to his workers. Many business' followed in Fords way and gave their workers wages this made the workers keep working for them and work hard.Womens lives we changing very quickly and the women we gaining more freedoms. Womens started working paying jobs and gained the right to vote. They also started dating and wearing different clothes.The women in the olden days would have to take hours to do their hair and put on the pounds of clothing just to be accepted in public. In the twenties there we market stores all around that sold the light clothing that made the women beautiful.Electricity gave the work more opportunities. Such as the farmer, they could now have microwaves and toaster ovens.By the 10920 the movies were the most powerful influence in the world. People could go to the movies and mimic what the famous characters were doing.The 18th amendment outlawed alchol. This didnt stop the people from making their own and it just caused more criminal actions.After WW1 the American developed a hatred for foreigners. The whites developed a group that discriminated against many different groups of people. This group was called the KKK which soon grew to 5 million people. The KKK also owned and ran 3 different state governments which only gavce them more power to do what they wanted and not get into trouble.The 1920 was also known as the golden age of sports. The quickness of the players interested people and also started the new sports of NFL. A well known face of the twenties of baseball was BABE RUTH. He ammused people by hitting his soaring home runs and exciting games.
