Today in class we went over our new project. Mine is over Civilian Conservation Core also known as CCC and Fair Labor Standards Act or FLSA. Then he gave everyone else there topics. You are to make one power point over both topics. You need to have what year was it passed. What did your act specifically do? And give examples of what it did. You need lots of pictures. Was your act successful? Why or why not? Is it still around today? When giving your presentation go into detail. Again you are making a power point/Google doc/Zoho. This project is worth 100 points. There is a lot of points going into your grade from presentations to projects. You are graded by Content need thorough information. Your presentation might be 10-15 minutes long. You need visuals for most of your slides. Mr. Bruns likes a lot of pictures. Explain the meaning of your pictures. Don’t chew gum while giving your presentation. Posture, eye contact, and body language plays a big part while giving your presentation. Do not have long paragraphs on your power point. Use short bullets. You should know what your topic is about with out having to read off the screen. Knowing your content and speaking from the heart means you have mastered presenting. Talk loud and speak up so everyone can hear you. Also pronunciation and enthusiasm is important. You could be asked questions so make sure you know what you are talking about. Try and get the audience involved and make them think. You could use a review game or put questions on your slides to help get them involved. That pretty much covered the presentation rubric and what you need when giving your presentation. Tomorrow we will be going over blog discussions.
