Today, we watched a video that covered overpopulation. Overpopulation isn't just defined as the amount of people, but also the impact that each person has. So far, it talked about how our planet is becoming overpopulated, and how a quarter of the population used three quarters of our energy, and releases three quarters of CO2 into our atomosphere. The US has a low fertility rate compared to third-world countries where they use little energy, even though they have many many people per family. Problems like violence, crime, poverty, and all that are increasing in large cities, due to more people. The second segment was about how women in other countries have lots of children because they don't know any better. The third segment started off talking about how women are 2nd rate citizens, used for work and under the control of the parents and husbands. They are mainly used for work and don't recieve much education. Educated women gain a place in life, but very few get the chance. Most women are just married off to another family.
