So today in CWI we finished talking about Rwanda genocide. We reviewed the causes and stuff, like the president's plane was shot down when he was in the middle of trying to create a peace treaty with another country. They still really dont know who did it, but there's a good possibility it was some of the extreme Hutus just trying to create a reason to start killing the Tutsis. They only waited until the next day to start killing Tutsis and moderate Hutus.Then someone told us about sometimes the Hutus would try to bribe regular citizens by telling them if they killed either a tutsis or moderate hutu, that they would recieve the land they killed them on.. ): After we finished talking we started the movie Hotel Rwanda. We didn't get very far though because Bruns stopped it to talk to us about semester tests, which are coming up really soon!! :O I hope it goes well.. That was pretty much it for today.
