Today we went over our Pearl Harbor blogs.

We got assigned our projects today. Taylor and I got the US Homefront for our projects.

In Pearl Harbor the Japanese were going to do three waves, but they only did two waves, They didn't think that the third wace was needed. That was a huge mistake that Japan had made because they really could have wiped us out like they were trying to do in the first place. They thought that they already had done enough damage.

Three of the air craft carriers were gone. That was a big deal. Japan put fins on the torpetos to that they would not hit the floor of the ocean. They had practice this and they dropped them from airplanes. Radiomen saw that they were coming, but they jus dismissed it thinking that it was the planes that were scheduled to come back from California that day. The U.S. didn't think that Japan was smart enough to bomb the U.S.

FDR tried to contact the emperor of Japan the day before this happened but there was no response. THey had midget submarines.

Threw radio messages we had heard that Japan was going to bomb somewhere at some time and we just thought that there was no way that they would bomb us because we were so far away. We didn't think that Japanese were very smart and that they couldn't care out this.

The U.S. practiced some for any attacks on Pearl Harbor. It started in the spring of 1941. The U.S. declared war with Japan the day after. December 8, 1941.
