Mr. Bruns just dropped another bombshell on us that there will be a part 2 to our World War 2 projects. Here are the research topics that will be divvied up between the groups.

1. The US Home front
2. The African Front
3. The Italian/
Mediterranean Front
4. D-Day and the European Front
5. The Pacific Front
6. The Spying Game
7. The End-Yalta Conference, Potsdam Conference, VE Day, VJ Day, Why the Allies won WWII, The effects of WWII

We will be blogging about the topic (we got # 2) and will be graded on our research and whatnot.

Pearl Harbor was a dark day for the US. Many people were absolutely stunned that Japan could successfully launch an attack of the United States military base of Pearl Harbor. A racist opinion of the Japanese cause many people to think that the Japanese were blind (couldn’t see well because many wore thick glasses), and the Americans thought that the Japanese were stupid and inferior.

There was supposed to be three waves of Japanese aircraft attack forces. This includes submarines. Japan was able to sneak their way into the Harbor and wreck much havoc on the US forces without the US being able to do much damage to the Japanese. The Japanese government issued the attack because they felt that it was the only option left to them in the trade crisis between the US and Japan.

The Japanese thought that they would be able to easily defeat the United States. The Japanese thought that we were weak and that the world would see just how weak our country was. They couldn’t have been more wrong.

The stupid Japanese underestimated the United States and they paid dearly for it. There will not be a force that can blatantly defeat our nation. We are strong when banded together. This is all that I can blog for today because class is just about over.
