There was a lot of spying going on in wwii.

Takeo Yoshikawa came to Hiwaii to spy. He had some health problems and the Japanese navy wouldn't him be with tem anymore so he became a spy. He found out where and when ships would be at a time. He didn't have any acknowlegde of the attack on Pearl Harbor. When he did get the evidence of the attack he destroyed all his evidence. Takeo was partly blamed for the attack because Japan lost the war.

Reinhard Gehlen was Hitlers top German advisor the turned info over to the United States. He turned enough information over to the U.S. to start the CIA. He also gave info that the Germans had on the Soviet Union to the United States. Because the Germans had been in their country since 1941.

Interrogation many people were hired as spies if they were multi lingual. A lot of spies were illed if they didn't agree.

Internment Camps-- Many people thought that the Japanese people that were living in America were spies. They were put in camps so that they couldn't do any spying. Many people died because of the lack of food and the bad medicine. These weren't like the concentration camps. A lot of this had to do with rasism. There were school and entertainment things. They lived in the deserts.

The Enigma Machine It was a machine that could sent secret code messages. The U.S. firgured out how to decode the messages and that really worked to our advantages.
