We continued with presentations today. Our class started with the presentation with alternative energy. Alternative energy is sources of energy that reduce pollution. Wind power is a source of alternative energy. It works by blades turning on a turbine and converting it into energy. Solar power is used by converting the sun’s light into energy. This can be transferred through solar panels. Geothermal energy takes heat from under the ground and converting it into electricity. The presentation on endangered species was after that. There is an endangered species act that has been passed. It was passed in 1973 because people finally started realizing that something needs to be done about these animals that are endangered. The number of polar bears has dropped a lot in the past years because of people killing them and global warming. Mr. Bruns had to leave for the guy’s tennis meet so we didn’t get to finish that presentation. We will finish it Thursday. My group (Shannon, Courtney, and I will present tomorrow. After Mr. Bruns left we got a chance to either work on our assigned blog for this week or study the European map. The assigned blog topic for this week is to read the first 16 pages of an article. Our test for the Europe map should be soon. I’m not sure exactly when it will be though, probably sometime next week.
