Today in U.S. History we discussed everyone's free-choice and assigned blog topics. The assigned blog topic for this week was famous assassinations that happened in the United States. We talked about the assassinations of John Lennon, Abraham Lincoln, and William McKinley. Some people also went into Detail about the assassinators or also about attempted assassinations. There was also a few people that talked about the JFK movie.I learned that John Wilkes Booth broke his leg when he jumped from the balcony, and also that president Lincoln's bodyguard wanted to be at the theatre with him. Lincoln told his bodyguard that he didn't need a guard at the theatre. I learned that John Lennon was killed by a crazy man in New York City. He shot at Lennon five times, but the last shot that hit him in the neck was the only one that really caused damage. I also learned that the attempted assassination of Ronald Reagan was by Hinckly. Hinckly was trying to impress actress Jodi Foster. That is what I learned from the blogs today.
