Today I learned what our assigned blog for this week was. We have to look up a topic from the chapter we did our project on, but not from the section we did our powerpoint on. Some people also took their oral test over Obama's Speech, the JFK assassination, and things regarding September 11th. I also learned that the chapter 5-8 presentations will begin on Thursday. After we learned about these two things, we had an in class day to research our section.I learned more about Section 3 of Chapter 8. I learned that even after Reconstruction the African Americans were fighting leagal discrimination. I learned that in the South whites started to created laws that limited the power of the African Americans in the political world. I learned that when a African American went to vote someone could administer a literacy test, most of the time the blacks were given much harded test. They also had to pay a poll tax to vote. Even if whites could not pass the literacy test and the poll tax, they could still vote because of the grandfather clause. That is what I learned more about today.
