Benito Mussolini was the leader of Italy during the World War II years. He came to power in 1922. He came to power because he was asked by King Victory Manuel to come to power. King Victory Manuel thought that Mussolini could stop the communists from coming to power. He started as an elementary school teacher. The Washington Naval Conference set up the four, five and nine Power Pact. It was about the reducing of naval forces. It reduced battleship numbers. Great Britain, France, United States, Japan, and China agreed to do this. It also kept the Open Door Policy alive in China. It aso guranteed Chinese Independence.
Hitler was beaten as a child. He struggled in school, just like Mussolini did. He failed out of art school in Vienna, Austria. Hitler wanted to be an artist. He finally found his calling in the military. There was a story that a French soldier came up and was going to kill him, but the war was almost over, so he showed mercy on him. He tried to overthrow the government and was thrown in prison. Hitler dismantled the Weimar Republic.
