Tara and Zack did their presentation on Great Britain.
1. How did the Treaty of Versailles impact them?
Great Britain wanted the German military to have any military equipment or soldiers. From the Treaty the country of Great Britain received German colonies in Africa.
2. What type(s) of government did this country have in the interwar years(1919-1938)?
They had a constitutional monarchy. In this type of government they would have a king or queen that would rule the people, but would not have very much power. It is sort of like a democracy. Great Britain has had this type of government for over 300 years.
3. How did their leader, that led them throughout WWII, come to power?
Neville Chamberlain was the Prime Minister of Great Britain, however once the war had started he resigned. He resigned because people were frusterated that he signed the bill at the Munich Conference. At this Conference Hitler said that he would stop taking land if he was allowed to keep the Sudetenland. However as we all know now that was all a lie. After Chamberlain resigned, Winston Churchill took power. He was given the power because he wanted to be tough on Hitler at the time of the Munich Confernce,

Chamberlain stopped the poor law. He also reorganized the unemployment system.
5. What were the goals of the leader?
The goals of Neville Chamberlain was to avoid war at all costs. He tried to keep Hitler and Mussolini happy. He also tried to stop Italy from invading Ethiopia.
6. What was the military strategy of this country in the inter-war years(1919-1938)?
Britain had a good Navy. They tried to make sure that all of the Allied Powers had access to the ocean. They also barricaded the places around the Axis Powers so that they would not be able to get supplies. They also wanted to blockade Germany.
7. What role did they play in WWII?
They were really the first people to stand up against Germany, They fought against Germany by themselves until they convinced the United States and the Soviet Union to help them.

Thier main allies were the United States, Soviet Union, France, China, Australia, and Canada,
9. How did WWII impact/effect the country?
They got bombed constantly. A lot of damage was done, and the reparations from these damages caused Great Britain to go into massive debt.
