Today we continued to present on Chapter 10.I learned an example of Big Stick Diplomacy- Big White Fleet sailed around the world to show how strong the United States is and the Panama Canal SituationTaft's Dollar DiplomacyI learned that the Dollar Diplomacy was influenced by the economy. The United States would make loans with Latin American businesses for the economic welfare of the country in which the loan was taken out as well as the United States. This was created under the presidency of William H. Taft. I also learned that Taft said that that affairs with Latin America went from “warlike and political” to “peaceful and economic”. Another thing that I learned was that Mexico is an example, when we were invited in to invest in Mexico's mines under the leadership of Diaz.Wilson's Missionary DiplomacyI learned that the Missionary Diplomacy said that if any leader came into power in the wrong ways that we would refuse to recognize them as a government. Some people in Mexico were mad because Americans owned the land in Mexico with natural resources and they did not seem to be getting any of the money. As in the example of the mines. I also learned that they went through many different leaders because they kept getting overthrown because they people were angry the leader wasn't getting them any money.
