The Treaty of Versailles was a peace treaty that was signed after WWI. It was named after the French palace where it was ratified.
The treaty was designed to stop fighting that was going on in WWI. It said that Germany had to give back the land that they had taken. They also had to pay back the countries that Germany had stolen from. Finally, they had to admit that they caused WWI. The treaty didnt go into effect untin 1920. The United States and China didn't want to sign it.
I think that the treaty did restart WWII because it basically attacked Germany. I know if there was a rule or treaty that was made because I did something, I wouldn't be very happy. Germany lost alot of things because of that treaty. I'm pretty sure that some other countries would have too.
