This treaty was a peace treaty at the end of World War 1. The treatie helped to end the state of war between Germany and the Allied Powers. This treatie was signed five years after Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated on June 28, 1919. after six months of negotiations at the Paris Peace Conferencee to conclude the peace treaty.
One of the main provisions of this treaty was the one that made Germany accept the fact that they cause the world war and they had to disarm, make territory concessions and pay reparations(or payments and transfeers of property and equipment) to countries that had formed the Entente powers.
This treaty also demanded demilitarization and occupation of the Rhineland. The German army also had to be reduced to 100,00 men. The restriction on navy vessels went to under 100,000 tons. It also baned the acquisition or maintenance of a submarine fleet. Germany also wasnt aloud to maintain an air force. They were required to conduct war crimes proceeding on kaiser and some other leaders for using aggressive war tactics. This treaty helped lead to world war two because germany basically wanted revenge on the allied powers for crippling them the way they did. Hitler said he would make germany great again and undo the wrong doing done by the allied powers.
I think that we probably wouldnt have had a world war 2 if we would not have been so harsh with that treaty on germany. we basically destroyed them and their military so they had absolutely no power.
