Treaty of Versailles

In 1918 the Treaty of Versailles was signed at the end of World War I. This was a peace settlement. It also ended war for Germany and their allied powers. It was signed on June 28, 1919. The irony of this is that it was exactly five years from when Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated. The three most important people or politicians for this were David George, Georges Clemenceau, and Woodrow Wilson. For the other side of Germany there were other peace treaties that help to end war over there. It was actually signed on November 11, 1918 but it took six months of negotiating at the Paris Peace Conference to actually put it into affect.

The major thing that this did was to make Germany accept that they were the ones to actually cause of start the war. They had to pay for the damages done. I think that the treaty did help lead into WWII majorly. I think that it really made Germany upset with the United States and they felt like they had to get back at us one way or another. So sooner or later things were going to hit the fan again.
