The Treaty of Versailles was a peace treaty that ended World War 1, It was also called the Treaty of Peace. The Treaty was signed in the a part of the palace called the Hall Mirrors. This treaty ended the fighting between the allied powers and Germany. The Treaty was signed on June 28, 1919. The treaty made germany pay the allies some 13.3 billion dollars and they also had to forfet 12.5% of their land.
Germany also lost their military power. They werent allowed more than 100,000 men in their military but they soon found a way to cheat through that, by having many men in the reserve.
The Treaty also set up the League of Nations , which was were all the high powers in the world would work together and over -see other contries military and war efforts.
I think that the treaty was the best thing that could of happened and that germany was punished fairly for starting the war.Maybe even germany should have been punished more , and stripped more of their land.
