We started off class by talking about Muraham Al-Gabian, or something along that matter. We went into the difference of Al-Qaeda and Taliban. We mainly talked about this. Then, we went into the War in Afghanistan.Taliban and Al-Qaeda again. Taliban are islamic students who were the government in Afghanistan from '96-2001. They were allies with Al-Qaeda. Al-Qaeda is an international terrorist organization. Which is led by Osama Bin Laden. They started in the 80's because of the russian attack. Taliban does not want new ideas like cell phones, tv's, and sex to be released. Al-Qaeda is trying to get western influence out of the middle east. They want the middle east for islamic people only. If we got our western influences out they wouldn't have so much beef...too bad we're vegetarian. The main thing for the War in Afghanistan. NATO is the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, it was set up from World War II.
