Today we heard about john adams, george washington, the civil war. the majro events during wars were slavery. south had slaves northerners were trying to get rid of slaves. Henry Clay & someone were slave owners, they leaded a society that was helped to free slaves, events that led up to the civil war: abraham lincolns election causing people in the south to seceed. abe's tought was we can leave slavery as it is. but the south didnt believe. the united states wanted to be more independent because the south and north had differfent values. when the south started seceeding is when they started the war. The southerners thught they needed more slaves since the coton gin was created.
