Today we are presenting all of the projects I think we have been doing that since yesterday
- Workers Progress Administration (WPA) it gave people money to give people jobs that they wanted. Gave 1million students something to do.
- Relief, Recovery, Reform (RRR) starting to close banks it gave out loans Kept people in school gave them jobs
- Civil Works Administration lasted 6 months and let people work construction
- (FDR) born Jan 30th died April 12th good education he won election
- (FDIC) was the banks were failing kept banks confidence 600 banks failed other banks should have got stronger but everyone got there money and they failed
- FDR’s hundred days passed 15 major laws
- Security Exchange Commission created 1934 had 5 commissioners for 5 years it deals with banking it was successful it is still around today helped the stock markets make it safe makes rules and makes shear that they are flowed
- PPP started 1932 stimulate the economy it gave money to banks helped business it is still around today
- Food Drug and Cosmetic Act it was passed in 1938 things must be labeled so no lies
- Supreme Court packing Court didn’t like so added 6 more people.
- SEC Passed in 1933 Roosevelt passed law on alcohol to be out lawed
- Fireside chats sent messages to say everything was okay
- Emergency Banking relief was singed by Roosevelt the act le the president to have control the bank if some one wanted a lone it went to the president. Kept big banks open.
- Difference between the 1st and 2nd new deal 1st helped banks in 1933-1944 established by FDR people still unemployed 2nd 1935-1938helping the from the bottom up
- NYA-established in 1935 helped people stay in school
- NRA- a first thing in the new deal was not successful they declined in 1935set minimum wages and maximized hours labor union. Blue eagle is certified its like a respect thing.
- Deficit spending- grants to people lending money debt was higher we do Deficit spend today.
- TVA&1933 construct dams and power plants covers several states helped farmers floods were big problems and they helped fixed its not around a lot of rivers in the valley president was Roosevelt
- Townsend-had many supporters he became unemployed $200 per month and every citizen age 60 and over and he didn’t like Roosevelt he needed to go farther and need to do more for elderly
