Today, I researched more on my project. I looked more into my second topic, which is business buys influence. It basically just talks about how tariffs were high and Grover Cleveland wanted to lower them but he couldn't because congress wouldn't have it. Cleveland ran for reelection but was beaten out by Harrison who was backed by big businesses that wanted higher tariffs. Harrison raised the tariffs to their highest level yet. Cleveland was elected president again and lowered tariffs. After Cleveland, McKinley became president and raised the tariffs again.
