Today in history, people are taking tests and everyone else is researching their subject.Vassar college was the first college to accept women into their college in 1865. The next to colleges to follow Vassar was Smith and Wellesley in 1875. Columbia, Harvard, and Brown stell refused to allow women to attend the university. Women still had to do all of their duties at the home, but the colleges wanted to give women an excellent education. Women had another alternative other than just marrying and working at the home. They now could attend a college or enter the work force. About half of the women that went to college never married because they wanted to keep their independence. Women started to get involved in social reforms, as well.I also replied to a couple of discussions.
