To start class off we did some ITED questions. Mr. Bruns then told us some basics on the Cold war before we started on the Cold War Projects.
Causes of the Cold War.
It was a conflict between the United States and the Soveit Union. It didnt have any military conflict and that is how it got the name Cold War. The United States is Anti-Communist and the Soviet Union is Communest so you can see were we had a conflict with them. the Soveit Union was mad at us because we were making Atomic Bombs and they didnt know about it. We had an Allienace with them so it showed that we didnt trust them as an alliance. The U.S wanted International trading but the Soviets were all aginst it. We had alot of competiton after WW2 for suppior power.
Domino Effect- When one contry falls to communism then the neigboring contries also turn into a communist contry
Iron Curtin Speech- Speech by Winston Churchill saying that there is an imaginary line spliting Europe into two sections
Truman Doctrine- This was Trumans attempt to contain Communism. Sent Greece and Turkey money and supplies to keep communism out of there contries.
