1. How did the Treaty of Versailles impact them? the soviets were not in the treaty of versailles but they were affected by the brest-Litovsk and the Nazi-Soviet Non-Agression pact. the nazi soviet agreement split up poland.
2. What type(s) of government did this country have in the interwar years(1919-1938)? the bolshevik revolution started in 1917. communism was started by lenin
3. How did their leader, that led them throughout WWII, come to power? stalin came to power because lenin died.
4. How did this leader change their country(for the better and worse) prior to WWII? stalin took educated people out of their jobs and put them into work camps.
5. What were the goals of the leader? to increase his world influence and become a world power.
6. What was the military strategy of this country in the inter-war years(1919-1938)? stalin killed anybody who could take him over. he tried to protect his borders very well.
7. What role did they play in WWII? they were a huge player and germany tried to invade the Soviets but Hitler couldnt conquer all that land at once.
8. Who were their allies in WWII? the allied powers and the united states sent over help to the russians.
9. How did WWII impact/effect the country? they became a major player in he world and the soviet union became very competitive in things like the olympics and the space race
