World War 2 Movie
It was nice to see Mr. Murtaugh again as the history teacher today, I haven't really talked to him since i was in his class last semester. I dont know where Bruns is but i'm sure he is upset that he had to miss school today. As we missed him too!!..The U.S. wanted to help Great Britian defeat the Nazi's without getting into the war by lending them weapons and ammunition. The destroyer for bases deal traded Britian destroyer ships for naval bases southeast of Florida. The Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor on December 8, 1941 which really surprised everyone because Japan wanted to dominate all of east Asia and the pacific. This bombing on Pearl Harbor sent a message that Japan was for real and they dont mess around. Japan felt that the U.S. was too strong so they attacked us. The Arsenal of Democracy was Italy, Japan, and Germany rebuilding their Navy. WW2 ended the depression as people migrated to inner cities and industrial urbanization was increasing. Mexico even sent men to help with the agricultural production. Such things as car factories changed to manufacturing plants to make ships, tanks, and planes for the war. Families in the U.S. were given ration stamps for food and gas and a bunch of other stuff. The U.S. was ready for war, 15 million people joined the armed forces and trained for the war, even females joined the armed forces. They did such things as make planes, ships, and tanks and housekeeping items so the men could be ready for war. In fact, the surviving women who helped train the pilots and stuff were given an award yesterday(The Medal of Honor). Even blacks were given labor jobs and able to do some jobs a white man would be able to do. The U.S. and their allies invaded German land on D Day.
