Today we went over the U.S. map. We also finished up our blog discussions today. We reviwed some information about the Taliban we learned yesterday (like who they are), and then picked back up on the topic of 9/11. Just under 3,000 people died on September 11, 2001. For about two years we wanted revenge. President Bush was in Florida reading to elementry students the morning of the crash. In the early 1990's the buildings were attempted to be blown up. Al Quida is a ratical Islamic terriorst organization that spans the world. They want us out of the places they're trying to control. Poverty also plays a roll in terrorist activities. Al Quida's goal is to eleminate us from the middle east; they want us gone. Morganne and Courtney talked about their topic. Afghanistan housed the group that attacked us, so that's why we went there. We invaded Iraq in 2003, and the Afgan war took a backseat. Trey talked about Bush's policies. The 2008 election was really an anti-Bush election. Bush had strong words, like "either you're with us or you're not," and that made many people really not like him. That's all we got to. We were not able to get to our skits today.
