Today we continued with our Democrat/Republican debates. The topics that were discussed were taxes and health care. Republicans believe that people should be equally taxed and that everyone should receive the same percent when there are tax cuts. Democrats say that wealthy people should be taxed more because they have more money to give, unlike the middle or lower class. As far as health care goes, Republicans believe that we should reform our current health care plan, however they don't want the government to control it. They say that with government control, the U.S. would become more of a socliast country and it would also raise taxes. Democrats want the government to control health care because it would allow for the government to pay for insurance for poorer people by raising taxes for everyone else.
