Well we almost didn't have the computers during class today. The network has been a failure lately so the internet wasn't working. Well Bruns continued to test on the Canada map while we watched another movie. But of course, I can't remember what it's called, something about global warming. The movie took place in Greenland and it showed how all the ice has been melting. It was interesting to see all the different areas. I learned that Greenland is 80% covered in ice but the temperature has rose 8 degrees in the last couple years. Because of the ice melting in Greenland from global warming, they have discovered a new island. The map of the country is even changing, that's crazy. The thickness of the ice in Greenland has gotten 40% thinner in the last 40 years. A lot of scientists are concerned.Climate change is something that will effect the generations to come. They sedate polar bears so they can do some safe research on it. Scientists say that in 2007 the Artic waters lost six times the size of California in ice. That is a ton of ice. People are on this one island and dont have a lot of food so they will probably eventually run out. The island will be covered in water at some time. That's kind of scary.
