11:15-11:30--Michyla/Stephanie--7th USHToday in class we went over WWI and I learned that the goal was to get land and money from the losers. The United States goal was to win and end the war. When it broke out we declared neutrality. It was hard with a country of immigrants. It made that difficult. This meant we were able to trade with both sides and our ships and stuff would not be sunk. The u.s. got in the war with Germany was because our ships kept sinking our ships and Americans would die. The Zimmermann Note was the second reason we went to war. This said that Germany was trying to make an alliance with Mexico saying if they won that they would get the land back that we took from them. And that Mexico would fight us. Another reason for was a belief of War Hawks, Teddy Roosevelt. Trade with England increased Germany decreased went on. Propaganda for war. (persuasions) Preparedness Program in 1915. The home front refers to what people did back in the U.S. to help win the war.I think that it would have been a huge challenge stay neutral with a country of basically all immigrants.
