-new england-trading based, banking based, small farms, some agriculture
-middle-took a little bit of both, shipping, business, farming
-southern-plantations-tobacco, cotton, indigo..used slaves
7................ causes and effects of revolutionary war
causes-britain was in major debt so they started taxing the colonists
-"no taxation without representation"
-boston tea party, boston massacre
-colonists didnt like that britain made them house and feed soldiers
effects-we win, force britain out of united states, they go to canada
8.............. descirbe purpose of declaration of independence
-we have the right to have our own gov't
-we didnt like that george III was abusing us
-we wanted to have rights
-it declared our independence from great britain
9.............. describe the set up of the articles of confederation
-first gov't of the united states
-it was set up in articles and makes it so states have more power than the central gov't
-the federal gov't just asked for donations and the states would decline
-if 9 out of 13 states agreed then the law can change
-it failed becuase no matte how big the states were, they only got one representative so not everyone got a say in the votes
-they had no money so they failed
-no court system

-federalist and democrat republicans are the groups
-jefferson was leader of democrat republicans
-hamilton-federalist
-had opposite points of view, didnt ever agree
-george washington did not want political parties, said it would split the country
-hamilton believed in power to the national gov't
-jefferson wanted limited national gov't ( more state power)
-jefferson wanted strict interpretation of constitution and hamilton wanted it to be looser interpretation
-hamilton won that arguement by A LOT
-hamilton wanted business banks and rich, jefferson wanted it to be common people and farmers
-hamilton shot and killed by aaron burr
