Today in class we took a great amount of time studying and discussing the European map. Our map will be some time after the map presentations. Then we watched some of a video:
1. Describe what the “flat world” means before watching the lecture?
It means we are getting more update in our technology and are able to communicate more with people on the complete other side of the world as if they were right with you.
The video didn't work so we started on our group presentations:
Climate Change:
- causes: volcanic ashes, continental drift, atmosphere, heating of ocean waters, atmosphere reflectivity, surface reflectivity, green house effect, cars, oil spills in oceans.
- effect: rising sea levels ( melting ice caps and snow ), sea surface temps. raising, more natural distasters, more carbon dioxide in atmosphere, heavy droughts.
- areas affected: Great Barrier Reef, Bangladesh(asia), Sudan(africa), Caribbean, Alps mountain range(europe), Britain.
Kyoto Protocol: It's an agreement by the U.N. to get all countries to sign on stopping green house gasses. The U.S. didn't sign the protocol due to flaws in it not saying what long term effect it had on us, it'll hurt buisnesses.
