Our class reviewed the parts of the Europe map we’ve been going over and got introduced to more of it in class today. Mr. Bruns talked a little bit about some of the places in Europe and their history. We were going to watch the video about the flat world today but the video wasn’t working again. So we started presentations for the hot/flat/crowded project but we only got one in. Matt and Isaac volunteered to do go first. Their presentation was on climate change. Some of the causes of climate change are volcanic emissions that go into the atmosphere, continental drifts, atmosphere/ocean heat exchange, and surface reflectivity. Surface reflectivity is basically green house affect which is heat getting stuck in our atmosphere. The effects of it are raising sea levels, sea surface temperatures are getting higher, and heavy droughts can occur. Some of the areas in the world that are most affected by climate change include the Caribbean, Siberia, Australia, Tuvalu, Sudan, and Bangladesh.
