Today we went over our European map. We learned some new countries. We really need to study them more! We were going to start The Flat World but the computer had other plans and so we, once again, couldn't. Matt & Isaac started their powerpoint presentation on climate change. Causes are volcanic emitions, mountain building, continental drift, atmosphere/ocean heat exchange, surface reflectivity, and atmospheric reflectivity. Effects are rising sea levels from ice caps and melting snow, sea surface temperatures getting higher, more frequent natural disasters, more co2 in the atmosphere, heavier rainfall, heavy drought. The most effected areas in the world are Bangladesh, Sudan, Caribbean, Australia, Alps, Britain, Siberia, Tuvalu, Great Barrier Reef. The United States didn't sign the Kyoto protocol because Bush found flaws in it.
