4. Describes reasons why Europeans came to America.
The spanish were down in Mexico and Europe noticed how they were getting rich with gold and stuff. Looking for riches. Fur trade, anything else to get money, but mostly gold. Alot of the immagrants were survents trying to start over. Religion is a big reason why they came over, cause they could practice it anyway they want. They were trying to get away from the Catholic church. Alot of africans were forced over for slavery.
5. The differences between New England, Middle, and southern colonies
New England was the center of trade and business. Middle colonies had alot of great ports, they were mixed with the north and south economy. Alot of there ports had to do with boats. The south was settled by wealthier people. Which is were farming and slavery came in. They were agriculural type.
6. Describe the causes and effects of the French and Indian war.
The french and the american indians were together fighting the british. The british really wanted to take over, wanted to kick out france. Whoever one this war would be dominating america. The british one, they took over Canada and kicked out france. They colonial americans were forced west. They main effects was the line of aproclamation. More conflict because the whites wanted more land. Great Britin was put in great debt. So then taxes started.
7. Cause and effects of the Revolutionary War.
1780's - The American Colonist and the British. The american's wanted independence more and more. Great Britin wouldn't allow these taxes. The lack of information effected them, cause they couldn't get letters fast. That all added up and Thomas Paine called for war.
8. Describe the purspose of the Declaration of Independence and what it talked about.
It was to declar and have it in writing about our independence. It talked about how all men are created equally and how everyone deserves it. They had the right to liberty and pursuit of happieness. Three fourths of it is about Great Britin treating them unequally. The last paragraph is about how we declared it.
9. Describe the setup of the articles of confederation.
For the first decade we had the articles of confederation was the goverenment. 1780's - 1790's. It was set up that second congess could make decsions about making war. There wasn't a president, it was congress and only congress and one person per state. The government failed because they couldnt' tax things. It gave most of the power to the 13 states. The federal government had no money and it tried getting money from the states but the states denied it. The 13 states acted like countries towards eachother. They agreed with nothing, they failed to the major articles and the country was not united.
