Today was another testing day or a workday for the project. I choose to study for the test. I looked up Italy today. Italy was promised land, but did not get all of the land that they were promised. In 1919 fascism was introduced. Fascism says that war and violence is okay, so they decided to build up their military. Mussolini was declared Prime Minister by the king. Then in 1924 he declared himself dicatator. Mussolini wanted to get colonies because colonies made a country look stronger. Mussolini wanted to control the Mediteranean Sea. He also helped out with public transportation. They wanted to help Hitler and keep the Allied Powers preoccupied with hard fighting. At the end of the war they lost all of their colonies and their government collapsed.
After Hiddenburg died Hitler quickly came to power and got rid of the Weimar Republic. The Kellog-Briand Pact was signed by a lot of countries and it outlawed war. This was not a very realistic pact. The Nuremburg Laws made the Jews second class citizens. He wanted to create the perfect Aryian Race. The Night of the Broken Glass was meant to break the Jews will. He sent people out to break glass out of all of the Jewish churches. Great Britain, France, Germany, and Italy were at the Munich Conference. At the Munich Conference the people agreed that Germany could have the Sudentenland as long as they aggreed not to take any other countries. It was called the Policy of Appeasement.
