The Taliban, is a relidgious and form of government used by Afghanistan from 1996 to 2001. It was then shut down by NATO, for violations and terroristic threats on other nations. It has regrouped since 2004, and is big in local governments in Afghanistan and the tribal region of Pakistan. They are partialy funded by the leaders. During period of 1996 to 2001, the Pakistani government gave the Taliban weapons and training. They are lead by Mullah Mohammed , and control the Afghan capital Kabul, and several other major cities.During the late 80's, the Soviets made threats to invade Afghanistan, and the U.S. got involved. We funded the soon to be insurgents, and also trained them to fight the Soviets. The Soviets never invaded, and soon fell from power in today Russia. So some of the weapons used are American weapons still from the funding, and most vehicles are used today.There has been major problems with Afghanistan and Pakistan since the 9-11 attacks. After this happened, the U.S. found out that Osama Bin Laden was hiding in Afghanistan. The U.S. demanded to hand him over, but yet the Taliban refused to hand him over, along with many Al Queda opperatives. This lead to the U.S. moving in, and trying to find the scum that bombed the World Trade Center. It has said to believe that the Taliban and Al Queda opperate jointly, and work together and inter-connect. In my opinion, we need to exterminate these beings that are so called heros in these parts for the killing of innocent people, just like the 9-11 attacks.
