The first telephone was invented in 1876, by Alexander Graham Bell and Thomas Watson. This invention was extremely important because it made communication so much easier. With the introduction of this device, the world continued to become a smaller, flatter place. Alexander Graham Bell may had been the first person to patent the telephone, but the history behinnd this invention is very complex and complicated. There is a large confusing collection on different claims of people saying they had invented something like this before.Alexander Graham bell invented and patented the first practical telephone. The first successful use of the telephone was made on March 10, 1876, when Bell spoke into the phone to Watson and said, "Mr. Watson, come here. I want to see you." Watson was able to respond to this call.
The first long distance phone call was made on August 10, 1876, by Alexander Graham Bell in Brantford, Ontario, to his assistant in Paris, Ontario. The distance between these two places is around ten miles.I beleive the invention of the telephone was a super important invention that occurred in our history. Without the telephone people would obviously not be able to communicate, and with many, many modern advances such as cell phones and texting, the would in continuing to grow smaller and flatter, making life easier.
