The al-Qaeda

Al-Qaeda (meaning "the base" in Arabic) is a Sunni-Islamic multinational group in the Middle Eastern region, founded in the late 1980's. It is currently led by Osama Bin Laden, with a goal for the whole world to be in "jihad" (meaning "struggling for God"). So far they have carried out 6 major attacks on other nations, mainly in the United States, but a few in Yemen and one in East Africa as well (on a U.S. base). These, and other smaller issues, were mainly a series of suicidal attempts to kill tens of thousands of people, although many failed. The U.S. recognizes it to be an organized FTO.The most notable of any al-Qaeda attacks, for the U.S. at least, was the tragedy of the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001, where about 3,000 people died. This, in turn, led to the U.S. to lead the war we are currently in. Since then, the war has been focused on the Iraq\Afghanistan area in the Middle East, where most of the al-Qaeda is located.I think these people are crazy....Just gotta say it. I don't understand how causing thousands of people to die (and yourself in the process) is any way to get into paradise or make people believe in God. You should never force your religion on anyone; it's wrong. Especially when your religion believes in off other religions....that's kind of Hilter-esque.

Air-shot of damage to the Twin Towers after the attack on 9-11.
