Taliban

The Taliban ruled Afghanistan from 1996 until 2001, making sense because in 2001 was the Terrorist Attack in United States. They held 90% of the countries territory and their policies, consisting of how they were to treat women and the beliefs they had about terrorism. From the looks of it, it was definetly a bad thing for the five years they ruled. In December 2001 the United States Military and Afghani opposition forces took the power from the Taliban in response to September 11, 2001.

How the Taliban ran their country is a whole different story. The way they treated their women was horrible. Little girls weren't even allowed to go to school. They could only work in their own home and were banished from the work force. Women couldnt leave their home without a male relative and had to wear the burqa, covering everything but their eyes. Their windows in their home had to be painted black. Male physicians couldnt examine women or girls, but at the same time women doctors and nurses were prohibited making it almost impossible for any women or girl to get medical attention. If women dis-obey these rules, there are major consequences. Beaten, possibly death. That's too crazy to even be thinking about a country who treats their women like that.

During the War in Afghanistan, the Taliban were removed from power, but some how the forces have regained some strength. The Taliban had an alliance with Al-Qaeda and Osama Bin Laden had been a member of the Al-Qaeda.
