Watergate
It was a political scandal in the 1970s. It was a break in the Democrat National Committee Headquarters at the Watergate Office Complex in D.C. It was broke in at June 17, 1972. It sabotaged the Democratic party. So bad that Nixon won by a landslide in the President election in 1972 against George McGovern. Nixon was trying cover up this Watergate event. Which was one of the five people who went Democrat National Committee. John Dean has told Watergate investigators that he discussed the Watergate cover-up with President Nixon at least 35 times. Their were tape recordings of these discussions and Nixon didn't want to fork them over. But, got forced to give them over. This scandal was so bad that Nixon was about to get impeached but, he resigned instead.
Opinion:I thought this scandal was terrible. Nixon rigged the election and he was trying to cover it up.

Gulf War
On July 17, 1990, Saddam Hussein accused Kuwait of overproduction of oil, in control of world market and decreasing its income from its sole export. Talks between Iraq and Kuwait lowered on August 1, 1990. On August 2, Iraqi with a population of 21 million invaded its neighbor Kuwait, which had a population no more then two million. The rest of the world was in an outrage. The country ask the U.S. for help. U.S asked Iraq to back out which they didn't. So the U.S. bombed Iraq. This started the Desert Storm. The six month Gulf War buildup involved four times as much supply as the Normandy Invasion. During this time this is what the U.S. did.

9-11 and the War on Terror- invasion of Afghanistan
The War on Terror is the campagin lauched by Pres. Bush with the support of GB and NATO members and also other countries. It was lauched in the response to 9/11 and the objective was to eliminate international terrorism. 9/11 was a series of sucide attacks which were working for al-Queda from Iraq. They hijacked the planes. It crashed these planes into the Twin Town of the World Trade Center. This killed alot of people from this foolish attack. Soviet Union in the past invaded Afghainastan to turn Communist which U.S. and are allies fear Communism. But, Soviets turned Afghan partially Communism. So we invaded Afghanistan to protect are country and attempt to free all of the world. We aren't afraid to go that extra mile for freedom. Also we want to stop the spread of Communism in its tracks.
Deaths from 9/11/01

Opinion:I thought this attack on 9/11/01 was cold and wrong. Should not of done that. They just awoke the sleeping giant.
Invasion on Iraq 2003
It started March 20, 2003. The invasion started the Iraq War. Four countries partcipated in this invasion US, GB, Australia, and Poland. We had the biggest amount of troops. Reason for are invasion is to stop terroism. Also to protect are country because they had nuclear weapons. Are goals to remove Hussein, find out information on military and eliminate them, and to find and destroy WMDs. It also wanted to liberate the Iraqi people
and control the oil fields. Which will decrease are oil prices for us. The forces were quickly overwhelmed and Baghdad fell on April 9 ending Hussein’s rule. Thank God for that. Are misson was accomplished.
Opinion:I thought this was a very bold move. But, we pulled it out so it works out.
