Franklin RooseveltMy blog assignment is about Frank Roosevelt. The guy who got us out of a crisis. The Great Depression. The early part of his political career he was a New York Governor through 1929-1932. Until the Democratic candidate became President of the Untied States in 1932. When the country was deep in the Great Depression and also during the start of WW2. The country was spinning downward ¼ of the country was out of work. Farmers prices fell below 60%. They needed help fast.Roosevelt came out with a strategy. “The First Deal.” He wanted immediate relief. So he sent a ton of bills to the congress and they got passed. Some other thing he did was he had was a Emergency Bank Act. Which this allowed banks to re-open. This was the first step to recovery. This gave Americans confidence in banks. That’s what he did his first time in office. He also did new government agencies. He made jobs for the unemployed just as Obama is trying to do. Franklin Roosevelt did a lot of stuff to help the crisis but, this is what he did early to build up America. This is also probably why he is the only president to go more then two terms.
