On Monday, August 10th, a typhoon hit Japan’s western coast. With the typhoon came very heavy rain that produced many floods and landslides. Police reported an evacuation of 2,200 from their homes to stay at public schools. Around 500 houses were flooded.The typhoon, which they named Etau, moved toward the Tokyo area with winds up to 67 miles per hour.Thirteen people were killed and ten were reported missing."At least one man was swept away in a river while he was in a car.
