Today we finished Nelson's powerpoint.Chapter 5-1The Indians didn't like the white men's ways at all. Two thirds of their land had been taken from the Indians and given to settlers. The settlers destroyed the buffalo and they became badly endangered and this was the main resource for the Indians. Livestock became one of the biggest profitable buisness because of the vast open lands. There were a lot of cowboys that came to help with the livestock. They had to move their cattle all over the country and they had to always look after the cattle at all times. They had to move the cattle to towns with railroads so they could sell them to make money. Cattle became stationed in one place with them fenced in with barbed wire. The groups of people on the open range competed greatly for all the resources on the plains.
