In 1991 Jaycee Dugard was 11 years old. She was abducted somewhere close to home. Jaycee lived in South Lake Tahoe, California. The main suspect of this case, Phillip Garrido, is a California registered, sex offender and is believed to have kidnapped Jaycee and kept her captive for 18 years. 18 years is a really long time to have kept someone in captivity everyone should be lucky this girl is still alive.

At the age of 29, Jaycee Dugard was rescued from the Garrido’s home. It was August when she was found. The house was located approximately 120 miles from her home in Lake Tahoe. Prosecutors say that the Garridos had two children that were living with Jaycee while she was in captivity at the house.
Mr. and Mrs. Garrido have been charged with 29 counts of felony in the case of Jaycee Dugard. Phillip was on parole. He and his wife, Nancy, have both pleaded not guilty to their charges. Phillip, age 58, says that he has a special gift that nobody else has been given. He claims to have been hearing the “voices of angels” for years.
His defense attorneys argue that his “gift” is nothing but a serious mental issue that the poor man has been suffering with for most of his life now. Prosecutors tell the press that Phillip is nothing but a “master manipulator” , these words came right out of a journal entry that was written in Jaycee’s diary.

The public defenders of Mr. Garrido are Rick Meyer and Susan Gellman. They say Garrido had an ability to communicate with angels. He told Rick and Susan all about how the angels would keep him up in the middle of the night. These angels supposedly lived underground and would speak to him from beneath his floor. To me this is completely insane. I guess some people have wierd things like that going throught their mind though.
Dugard believe that the young women, Jaycee, was there to help him. He thinks that she helped him “transform” and have “disclosure”. It is documented that Philip says Jaycee and him had plans to create a website. The website would let the world know of Philip’s special ability to speak to angels. Mr. Garrido claims he meant to cause no harm to the children and loved them all deeply. He did kidnap Jaycee though. Can that really be forgiven so easily?
