Skyscrapers

Louis Sullivan built one of the first skyscrapers. The Wainwright Building was ten stories and made of brick, it was named after Ellis Wainwright who financed the project. The Wainwright Building is located in St. Louis and was finsihshed in 1891.

Daniel Burham designed the Flatiron Building. The Flatiron Building was 285 ft high or 22 stories. It could be built much higher than other buildings because of the steel frame which was not used often during that time.

Skyscrapers are a good idea because they hold more area and take up less ground space due to their size height.
