Before you thought the Iowa native teen prodigy Shawn Johnson couldn't get anymore successful, she proves more disbelievers wrong. Already winning the silver medal in individual all around competition AND winning the gold medal in the balance beam apparatus, the 17 year old gymnast never ceases to amaze anyone as she unexpectedly wins the Dancing With the Stars competition this year.She has truly become a celebrity and role model to young girls across America. She won an ESPY for "Best Female Olympian," and a Teen Choice Award for "Athlete-Female" for the 2nd year straight. Chet Culver, the governor of Iowa, declared October 17th is 'Shawn Johnson Day' in our fair state. Also, a life-sized bronze sculpture of Shawn was placed in an exhibit of the Iowa Hall of Pride.
