Amelia Earhart- She was a American aviation pioneer and author. She was the first female aviator to fly across the atlantic ocean solo. She also sold best selling books about her flying experiences, and was in many different organizations including the National Woman's Party. This organizations was to support Equal Rights Amendment and support all women.
Back then the women were know to follow the men and rules and do good. Amelia changed the playing field because she was one of the first women to have her husband take her last name while most others took the males last name. Also she was invited to Purdue to join there aviation faculty and was able to counsel young women on career choices. She loved to motivate other young girls about their potential and how there sex did not matter. She transformed the woman’s image from a passive, submissive, delicate one into one that was able to take charge, actively shape her future, and revolutionize her field. Amelia helped found the Ninety Nines, an organization for women pilots that still runs today. She changed the way the world viewed women at a time when women themselves were discovering their true potential
